Kofta with Potatoes

Mashed potato softens this kofta and stretches the meat in a very home-style way. After shaping, the patties are floured, dipped in egg, and crumbed before frying.

Kofta with Potatoes
Servings
4

Ingredients

1/2 kg
red meat
1
large potato
1
small onion
1 tbsp
salt
1/2 small spoon
pepper
2
eggs
flour — for dusting
breadcrumbs — for coating
ghee — for frying

Method

1
Boil the potato until tender, then mash or mince it very fine. Knead it into the seasoned meat with onion and egg yolk so the mixture becomes smooth.
2
Shape the kofta into rounds, dust them with flour, then pass them through beaten egg and crumbs.
3
Fry the patties in ghee until golden and serve them with salad or a potato side.
Notes
This is a frugal, practical kofta rather than a meat-heavy restaurant style one.
